Cookie Policy
Effective Date: August 20, 2026 · Last Updated: August 20, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how AlecRae ("AlecRae," "we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use our platform at alecrae.com (the "Service"). This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which provides additional detail about how we process personal data.
The short version: we set one cookie, and it keeps you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising, A/B-testing, performance-monitoring or third-party cookies, and we do not fingerprint your device.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, for example by keeping you signed in between page loads. Cookies may be "session cookies" (which expire when you close your browser) or "persistent cookies" (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them).
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the operation of our platform. Today this is a single cookie that holds your sign-in session. Without it you cannot stay signed in. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent and cannot be disabled.
2.2 Functional, Analytics and Performance Cookies
We do not use any today. Our consent banner shows these categories so that your choice is recorded in advance, but no cookie is set for them and no analytics, A/B-testing or performance-monitoring script runs on the site. If we introduce any such cookie in future, we will update this policy and the table below first, and it will run only if you have opted in.
3. Specific Cookies We Use
The following table lists every cookie set by our platform:
Cookie Name
Purpose
Duration
Type

Keeps you signed in (authentication session)
7 days, or until you sign out
Strictly Necessary
Your cookie-consent choice is not stored in a cookie. It is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key alecrae.consent.v1 and never leaves your device.
4. Third-Party Cookies
We do not set any third-party cookies, and no third-party script runs on the site. When billing goes live, our payment processor (Stripe) may set its own cookies on its checkout pages under its own privacy policy; we will update this page when that happens.
5. How to Control Cookies
a.
Cookie Consent Banner. When you first visit our platform, a consent banner lets you accept or reject non-essential categories. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of our website.
b.
Browser Settings. Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. You can configure your browser to block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or delete cookies when you close the browser. Consult your browser's help documentation for specific instructions.
c.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) signal, we treat it as a rejection of all non-essential categories and do not show you the banner.
6. Cookie Consent Mechanism
When you first visit the Service, you are presented with a clear choice to accept or decline non-essential categories; "Reject non-essential" is as prominent as "Accept all". Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage (see Section 3) and respected across all pages and subsequent visits. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent as they are essential for the Service to function.
7. Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you block the alecrae_session cookie in your browser, you will not be able to stay signed in. Rejecting the non-essential categories has no effect on the Service today, because nothing uses them.
8. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, provide additional notice (such as through our consent banner or by email). We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
